Tuesday 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Subtle Inspired Yoga
$10.00 per 1 hour session
Classes designed for students with chronic health challenges and or pain. Students will learn to practice and be guided through yoga breathing, postures, and meditation practices which can benefit health, mental health and emotional well-being, and resilience of the nervous system. Students will learn sequencing that activates parasympathetic nervous system, increases awareness and interception, increases blood flow, releases endorphins, helps dampen stress response, promotes mindfulness. Participants will have the opportunity to practice specific sequences to reduce anxiety, reduce depression, promote trauma recovery, promote addiction recovery, and reduce chronic lower back pain – some of these sequences will be offered as “mat” classes, and some as “chair” classes. Particular emphasis will be placed on theory and practices which can create top-down / bottom-up integrated self-regulation and inhibitory control as well as those which facilitate neuroplasticity and neurogenesis.
